Backpacks

Since 2019, students have received 3000 backpacks and school supplies kits to equip them for success.

$847

Per family

2022 estimates are that families needed $847 to provide supplies for students. For many families that equals mortgage or rent. The PAK program ensures families don't have to make that choice.

About the PAK program

Designed to instill hope, uplift and encourage youth and families in Western Pennsylvania and Ohio Communities

We believe positive role models and encouraging influences can change the future of one person or even an entire community. The Will Allen Foundation has been able to touch the lives of several communities through PAK.

It is our goal to help reduce educational problems for underprivileged youth in the region by providing backpacks filled with school supplies and hygiene products for the upcoming school year.

Serving the Underserved

It is time for us to make a change and send these children to school prepared for success.

Our goal is to provide 1,000 Life PAKs to students in need with a fundraising goal of $35,000.  We are asking for your generosity and financial support to meet our goal by sponsoring a school and/or student.  With a gift of $35, you can provide one student with a Life PAK that will significantly impact a child’s upcoming school year.

Three schools that we are planning to serve are Sto-Rox Middle School in McKees Rocks, Pittsburgh Conroy on the North Side and Twin Rivers Primary in McKeesport. These schools are often overlooked and underserved and they have the greatest need.

"It was cool that Mr. Allen spent the whole night with us… He made us feel special."
Stephon B.
"It was nice to know someone cares about us.”
Genero C.
“I know he meant what he said because he was the last one to leave.”
Shamar B.
